2009 FBS Deep Sleeper Player: Anderson Hernandez
Team: Washington Nationals
Bats: both
Position: 2B
Anderson Hernandez may not be a guy many of you have heard of, but the former Mets prospect will be known well in 2009. He will be the starting second basemen for the Washington Nationals. Most likely he will bat second in the lineup and will see plenty of at bats. At 26 he is in the prime of his career and ready to breakout. In 2008 he started in September and in 81 at bats, he batted .333, and even more impressive he had a .407 OBP. Now, Hernandez didn't steal any bases, but at that time Washington was done and they had zero aggression on the base paths. Hernandez stole plenty of bases in the minors, including stealing 24 in AAA for the 2005 Norfolk Tides. He did that in only 261 plate appearances. He hits to all sides of the field and is a switch hitter. He would make an excellent backup second basemen for your fantasy team primarily for average and stolen bases.
The True Guru Projections: 3 Hrs, 40 RBI, 85 Runs, .295 Avg, 30 SB
We feel he will achieve these projections through our formula based on our secret formula of 11 herbs and spices (its locked at Fort Knox). Of course we are assuming he stays relatively healthy for the entire season.

Wow, this is digging deep, but I do like his stolen base potential.
