Johan Santana a breakout in 2009, huh? I'm pretty sure he broke out like 6 years ago. Or are you expecting a 1.50 ERA? Thanks for sharing your wisdom True Guru.
I have to admit marking him a breakout was a tad stretch, but the reason I did it was simple. With a strong bullpen behind him it will clearly change him as a pitcher. He won't have to pitch as deep into games, he won't always have to pitch so hard late in the games, and his stats will reflect the new bullpen with more wins and a lower ERA. So calling him a breakout is a stretch, but in fact its true. I believe he will win the CY Young, get 22 wins, the normal K's, and an ERA hovering around 2.10. That is abreakout for Johan Santana. Thank you for your wisdom.
